I do packaging
Why hello again. When I started my career it was in package design and I still love the challenge. Okay, so I might be just a tiny bit happier if I didn't have to do "New" flashes anymore. Just saying ;)

1
Aqua Vit
This project was done for Cott Beverages, they wanted to produce an flavoured water for Cosco out in Western Canada. The client fell in love with this concept and even the printer worked extra hard to achieve the final results. This project won a US Graphic Design Award.

Sexy Gourmet
As a designer we are alway creating great things
for clients. Sexy Gourmet Food was what happened when I decided to enter the gourmet food business. It was a great idea with a great public response. Within the first year our products were in 150 stores across Canada. I learned a lot in the food business. Unfortunately I did not become a gourmillionaire but not for lack of trying.

3
Horton Spice Mills
Horton was the supplier for our Sexy Spice products and he was so excited about our packaging that he asked me to revamp all his product packaging. I started with the food service spices, then reworked all the extracts and food colours. As Tom Horton would say, "Get er done Deb" and I did.

Chivas
Sometimes the best ideas never get produced. This project was done for Boom Design while working for Onbrand. The brief was to create some excitement and buzz around the Chivas Regal Brand on shelf (while not changing their box). Here are two ideas that never came to fruition but are still worth dreaming about.

Pillsbury
I have had an opportunity to work on a number of different Pillsbury products over the last few years. Here are some of them. Projects included: Seasonal and Limited Edition cookies, shelf blades (I have included the concepts that were presented) and some promotional bunker cards. I even had some fun writing copy for their POS material.

Hayter's
This small family owned farm wanted an identity that would reflect their company & family values. Creating a crafted illustration of their actual farm was right on target. This look and feel was extended to both their packaging and their website. Visiting the farm and meeting the family made me feel we hit the mark with this new look.

Orgnx
LaCoupe Salon wanted to produce a new line of products with cutting-edge salon formulas that are as good for you as they are for the environment. Designs were presented using a number of different name ideas. The client was drawn immediately to the final design, you can see by looking at the concepts that they did not stray too far from what was presented.

Discover Cuisine
A new brand, Discover Cuisine highlighted a number of ethnic foods, which traditionally were not found in the North American frozen entrée category. This packaging line design was a Canadian Grand Prix Packaging Award Finalist, and won the Paris SIAL D’Or for Outstanding New Product in 2008.

Sonora Foods
When Sonora Foods started in 1993, they had one goal in mind: to offer Canadian restaurants a true taste of Southwest cuisine. When they decided to take their authentic tortilla shells to a retail market they wanted the graphics to reflect that ideal.

A&P
The client wanted packaging that was premium and sophisticated. We were required to use their existing photography on the packs. By using dark rich tones with bold pops of colour these packs had the premium feel the client was looking for. Even the judges agreed as the packaging won a Graphic Design USA award.

Winston & Friends
Created as a Private Label brand for the Husdon Bay Company, Winston & Friends was created as a line of products for your pets including dogs, cats, birds and even rabbits. From food to treats to toys the graphic program worked great across a number of different formats.

This project was done for a food distributor that wanted to launch their own line of products. The project included naming as well as design.

Don't blame the name on me, the brief for this project was to create a line of Eau de Perfumes to sell to Asian tourists at Duty Free. The boxes were debossed and foil stamped but still had that Canadiana feel to them. Project was done for: Russell Design

Things that
didn't fly
So many concepts never see the light of day and there are so many ideas that would have been amazing before a client gets their hands on it. So it is only fitting that I show some of the ones that got away. Enjoy!
